You could say that Lindsey and Joe’s chance meeting at Carolina Beach was written in the stars.
One Memorial Day weekend, Joe, a Wisconsinite at heart who was living in Blacksburg, VA, trekked 5 hours to the North Carolina coast with his friends. It was that same weekend that Lindsey, a Carolina girl, was also visiting the coast to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of her dear friend Jessica. Neither expected that it would be the weekend that they would meet their life partner! They bonded over their shared interest in travel, adventure, music, and politics and before they knew it, a great love was beginning to take root.
All too soon, the amazing weekend had to come to an end with Lindsey and Joe returning to their jobs and homes. Both wondered if their relationship was strong enough to weather the challenges of long distance. Determined to keep their love going strong, they got together almost every weekend in Blacksburg or Chapel Hill and their relationship continued to grow. They shared adventures, traveled to far away places, climbed mountains, went camping, tasted wine, met each other’s families, got to know each other’s friends, and shared a lot of laughs.
Almost 4 years later on May 24, 2015 they tied the knot at The Grand Ballroom atop The Historic Capital City Club in Raleigh, NC. They included many lush blooms and lots of greenery into their day as well as classic black and gold signage and decor elements to complete the look of their 1920’s Gatsby Theme.
